Hey friends! Here are the updates for the last month of our first term! To all of you, thanks for your support!! The end of this term is a bit of a milestone for us, and we're really grateful for how you've encouraged us along the way.
We hope school isn't too crazy, and that we'll be seeing you sometime this month.
Tomorrow: Our JUST BAKESALE!!!
Tomorrow, we'll be in the Student Centre selling fair trade goodies to help reach our fundraising goal of $1000 this year (the approximate costs associated with freeing one woman from sex slavery). We're also using it as a creative opportunity to raise awareness about unjust labour practices that happens behind many of our common products. Come prepared to give!!
NOVEMBER BIBLE STUDY
On Wednesday, November 14th, we're meeting at 830pm, in room MUSC 214 to continue our discussion on what the bible says about social justice. Nick Caric, a staff member of InterVarsity and a student at MacDiv will be leading us as we read Isaiah 58, and explore how this relates to current issues like globalization, and how that effects vulnerable peoples in Latin America. Come, read Isaiah 58, and learn with us!
HUNGRY FOR CHANGE!
This is an event put on by a slew of social issues groups on campus to promote awareness and raise money about inequality and poverty in the world. We're really happy to be apart of it this year, and we'd love for you to come out and take this opportunity to learn about inequality in a tangible way.
