Cooking for the Micah House

We've started to be involved with the Micah House (a refugee house in Hamilton http://www.micahhouse.ca/cms/) through cooking dinner twice a month for the guests there. If you'd like to be involved there are a few steps in the process, so you can commit to any/all of them based on time limits and all that. Here's what's involved:

-Shopping- going to probably the Barn and buying the food for dinner (we all split the bill on this so it's not a very big contribution per person)
-Cooking- last week we cooked at a house on South Oval that some of the exec live at- we could do that again if it works for most people or we could go to the Micah House to cook
-Dinner- bringing the meal/serving the meal at the Micah House in downtown Hamilton- if anyone has a car for this part of the evening that would be really appreciated. We aim to be there at 5:30pm (unless we cook there, in which case we'll go earlier). We're welcome to hang out there for as long or short a time afterwards as we want/are able.

We had our first experience there on Thursday and have another one coming up this Monday, October 27th. Usually we'll be doing 1 Thursday and 1 Monday per month.
